I was tripping on acid and was walking on the beach walkway in York, ME. There was a guy sitting on a bench playing a flute.😆 I sat down near him and was grooving to the music when he asked me if I wanted to try his flute. I did. And I was amazing, he said and I played for half an hour or so. Never could play the flute after that when I was straight. More LSD? Yup, just give me a flute.

Just this week, I revisited my entire collection of Moody Blues music. I'm always delighted with the production value, musicality, timeless and philosophical lyrics, and technical wizardry of this 50 year old portfolio of original works. Pretty certain they dabbled in the acid.

Excellent work AirBaja. All the material you publish is of great value, since you have been part of the scene and have experienced what many of us only imagine when watching and reading documentaries and books from those golden years. Surely you have come across or known many anecdotes about traveling with "White Lightning", "Orange Sunshine", "Purple Haze" or the sadly "Brown acid".
It is my pleasure and perhaps duty to share my eyewitness accounts of the Happening that was the sixties! Thanks for sharing the raft that takes us all down the river of life.

Timothy Leary was a revolutionary. LSD opened the doors of perception. His only regret was that he should have “taken more”!!😂💥. George Harrison said his first trip made him realise that he was “not just a Beatles”-but a soul. He said it was a gateway to the potential divinity and understanding of the self!! Any casualties of the psychedelic movement I believe were already troubled. Like Leary said anyone taking the drug was not fighting any wars or being violent! I think any drug can potentially manifest what is already within the individual but that does not make it the primary causal reason for suicide, self harm etc... I think all drugs should be legalised. Or decriminalised. Everyone knows the money racket of courts, prison, rehabilitation, the police, the lawyers and judges-it’s a food chain that the drugs industry massively assists. If all guns were removed there would be no way of shooting anyone. In the same way, a removal of criminality because of drug use would be a start. That’s just my opinion contentious or not!! I think the 1960’s in particular will go down as a period were people gathered on mass in the name of peace and love, it was almost a last grasp for true freedom by the human race-LSD played a significant part in that movement. I also love that TL was in the Give peace a chance video-a timeless anthem that will always be sung. Thanks for the education AB. 🙏❤️.x

Yes the 1960's was the last "gasp for true freedom by the human race. Yes (HALLUCINOGENIC DRUGS AND pot were the stimulus for achieving this!). THE 1960's were definitely last hope (FOR FREEDOM).....WE did make some groundwork, but lost "the PRIMARILY LOST THE battle for freedom", as the government still "CONTROLS/TRIES TO CONTROL OUR EVERY STEP" and has made the human race into "WORK SLAVES!! Mainly for the benefit of the government and to create/start wars! WITH DEMOCRACY we are supposedly free ('LAND OF THE FREE")....BUT WE ARE ENSLAVED (WE ARE BORN FREE, BUT WHEREVER WE GO, WE ARE ENSLAVED!!!)

Morrison Hotel and Peppers!! What a combination and photograph!! Love it. Thinking outside of the square box again my good man. The two greatest cities. Liverpool and Los Angeles The two greatest bands of all time. The Beatles and The Doors. The two greatest known music clubs on earth. The Whiskey and The Cavern. Something must be in the condensation waters that we collided my friend. Good vibrations that cross the Atlantic. The sounds of the 60’s captured the collective consciousness like a musical and spiritual aerial net!! In 2024 these gemstone images keep the same spirit alive and kicking. Pal I hope to rock it out with you this year on sunset boulevard 23/10/24 and likewise we can run riot on Matthew Street. I went to Pete Best’s last gig in his home last year (August 2023) with my son. It was held in the Casbah, an old Victorian property and the Best family still own it. It was the home of Pete best and his mother Mona turned the basement into a club they called the Casbah .The Beatles played more gigs here than in the Cavern!! I don’t believe the rumours that Pete Best was too good looking, that he wouldn’t have a mop top, or that he was too quiet etc…listen to the Decca and original EMI auditions and you can hear he just wasn’t right. He was important for the time he served in the band and in retrospect it seems almost cruel he missed out on the greatest ticket in music/showbiz history. When Ringo joined that was the final missing piece of the jigsaw. Regardless it was a memorable night to hear one of the original Beatles with my lad playing the songs he played with John, Paul and George. An interesting aside. Pete played more gigs with the fabs than Mr Starr. I loved the dream sequence number nine. Trippy and beautiful a cartoon collage of delight. It’s interesting that Rubber Soul is featured in this film, as it’s also my son and I’s favourite album. It was also George Harrisons!! Thank you for this my cyber cool dude. It means a lot to me. We didn’t start the fire but we sure can keep it going. 🔥🎵. Love from Liverpool to LA!! 🙏❤️ 🏴🇺🇸. x.

Johnny Rivers!! Well I never knew that!! So many great artists honing and tuning, strumming and plucking, writing and redefining their melodies. I can imagine the Whiskeys furniture, its ceilings and its floors are still dripping with psychic musical energy. Maybe it can still be tapped into?….or maybe it stands like a ghost, like a haunting yet beautiful essence of something forever left behind? This place was a breeding ground, a cosmic space where talent was moulded and shaped, where the fiery furnace burned bright and where sonic vibration produced tangible dreams. Where mistakes could be made and more importantly where new horizons could be found. The legend of how “The End” was played and performed in this establishment is forever enshrined in history!! The Doors like many of these giants will never be forgotten. The world is changing I fear and a time like this perhaps can never repeated again? Like a time vault museum, preserved and frozen in the immaculate, a picture frame encapsulated in history. We can only be “of our time” but alas this truly was a glorious one. Where the hope of the 1960’s reached for freedom, as it sang collective songs of hope, as it peered into the dark abyss and shone its light straight into its nucleus core. It dared you to look away and the collective senses were temporarily reborn. Least we forget. Airbaja your wild inventive imaginings, the constructs that you build inside that spirit of yours, is equally fascinating and enticing. You keep drawing us in my man, like a bee to honey, like a parched dessert plain in need of rainfall. Please keep on painting visual landscapes that inspire and make us believe in the “hope of a new song”. Whether or not this will manifest, like it did in those heady days of the sunset strip is one thing…but the fact we must still keep trying is only thing that matters. Right on. Keep breaking through. I was there a hippie through and through. I hitchhiked from Boston to Pt. Arena California just for the experience. Turned so many people on to weed and acid. I even bought 1000 hits one time and sold most of them within a week. "Are you experienced ?", as Jimi Hendrix asked.
